Who would have thought we would be having this community-wide fundraising campaign now? Then again, it is a different world. So much has changed.
Before COVID-19 we could imagine that the plight of our homeless brothers and sisters wouldn’t affect any of us, directly. With COVID-19, it is. Keeping our homeless brothers and sisters in shelters and on the streets, unable to practice social distancing, puts us all at risk.
COVID-19 is showing us that a home is more than four walls and a roof; a home is healthcare, public safety, family, community. We must act now to make this a reality for everyone, and not only prevent new people from falling into homelessness, but end homelessness in this, our home, Dallas and Collin Counties.So, with all the need out there, and with all the good causes in mind, make sure that tomorrow some of your money goes to ending homelessness.
