Mesquite CARES Act (CDBG-CV) FY 2021 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) Open Now!

On March 27, 2020, the United States Congress passed HR 78, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Stimulus act, (CARES Act). From the CARES Act, Mesquite received $1,583,307 in Community Development Block Grant – COVID19 (CDBG-CV) funds for emergency assistance to individuals, families, public service agencies and small businesses directly impacted by COVID-19. In fiscal year 2020, a total of $412,500 was allocated to Agency’s which address housing, food security, domestic violence, Youth, and mental health needs.

The City of Mesquite is accepting applications for its fiscal year 2021 CDBG-CV funds beginning through October 23, 2020. The City estimates it will have approximately $1,170,807 available for allocationEligible non-profits, City departments, and neighborhood organizations are encouraged to apply. Interested agencies and organizations must have a program that meets one of the following National Objectives: (1) Benefits persons of extremely low- to low-income; (2) Meets community development needs related to COVID-19. Funding will be available to awarded agencies January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
