Our last two finalists for the Case Manager of the Year Award 2019 are Ruquiyah Foye and Treva High.
Ruquiyah Foye, Metrocare Services
Ruquiyah Foye works for Metrocare Services and was nominated by Randi Barton. Randi tells us that Ruquiyah combines excellent listening skills with creative out-of-the-box thinking: “Ruquiyah currently works with an individual with high anxiety. The individual struggles to get through a session and is always moving her hands around. The individual reported (that) in the past… she used to paint and do artwork. Ruquiyah… at the next session brought a blank… canvas (and art supplies) so that (the) individual could paint while talking in session. The individual was able to make it through the session with noticeably less anxiety.” Congratulations, Ruquiyah!
Treva High works for CitySquare, specifically for CitySquare TRAC, and was nominated by Jackie Smith. Jackie tells us: “Treva has never failed to help find a difficult-to-house youth an available apartment… There are multiple examples of youth choosing an apartment well outside the approved fair market rent, and Treva convincing the apartment (manager) to meet the approved fair market rent,” so the youth could live where they wanted to. Similarly, “many… youth with significant barriers to housing have quickly found available apartments because of Treva’s… network of landlords… willing to give her youth a chance.” Congratulations, Treva!
