Have you noticed something different on our website? That’s right; we’ve got some new pics! Our good friend, BJ Lacasse, an award winning photographer and longtime advocate for the homeless, has been taking wonderfully humanizing photos of those experiencing homelessness for many years.
In late November 2016 she spent two days in Dallas (BJ is based in Fort Worth), and took hundreds of photos. We have been using these in our written and electronic collateral since early 2017. This summer, we invited her back to do her magic again.
Our good friend, Jamita Machen, who helps us out with our website, is gradually switching out the old photos with the new ones, and we will soon do the same in our written collateral.
We are tremendously thankful to our homeless friends who allowed us to take their photos, and to our partners who facilitated this undertaking: CitySquare, Family Gateway, The Bridge, The Stewpot, Catholic Charities, Promise House, and the Vogel Alcove.
