159!!!

That’s right; 159 is an exciting number. Now, you may think we find it exciting, because of the beautiful ALFA ROMEO 159. Admittedly, it is a beautiful car, but no. You may think we find it exciting, because of the phenomenal L159 ALCA. Admittedly, we favor high-performance military aircraft that incorporate a turbofan engine, advanced avionics and sensors, as much as the next person, but no.

159, is exciting us this week, because according to our CoC Performance Analyst, Dr. Lester Collins, 159 is how many folks have been housed through the 90 in 90 Emergency Shelter Challenge! (Being not that fluent in numberese, we asked the Doctor, and he did confirm, once again, that 159 is more than 90.) That’s right, in the week of 5/27-6/2, which included a long weekend, our partners, Austin Street Center, The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center and The Salvation Army DFW, did not slow down. They still housed another 20 people!

Congratulations to all of our partners, and especially to our formerly homeless friends! Because the most beautiful thing we can think of, surpassing sleek cars and cool aircraft, is ending homelessness.
