Coordinated Assessment System Team Doubled and Ready for Action

Paloma Belmarez, Coordinated Assessment System Specialist
(Pic taken in a restaurant. Remember those from pre-pandemic times?)

With Dallas’ homeless response system already reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and a tsunami of need just around the corner, MDHA, which had just begun to turn the tide in the fight to end homelessness, is already and will continue to be severely tested in the days to come. MDHA’s work will increase exponentially, as it works with its partners to not only continue to work towards ending homelessness but prevent others from falling into it.

La’Johna Carter, Housing Navigator
(Selfie, appropriately, taken beside her car. Housing navigators do not spend much time in the office!)

To that end, we decided to bring a few new team members on board to help us get through the challenges we are facing in the weeks and months to come. Please join us in welcoming Paloma Belmarez, La’Johna Carter, and Lexi Wilkins. La’Johna will serve as a Housing Navigator and Paloma and Lexi will serve as Coordinated Assessment System Specialists. With their addition, the Coordinated Assessment System team is now almost double in size! They will assist our service providers with the Coordinated Assessment System process, Housing Priority List management, landlord engagement and apartment searches.

Lexi Wilkins, Coordinated Assessment System Specialist
(Clearly, she’s just trying to make us jealous…)
