DALLAS, TX — Housing Forward today announced the appointment of two accomplished leaders to its executive team: John Hill has been named Chief External Relations Officer and Shante Joseph will serve as the organization’s new Chief Financial Officer.
The hires complete President & CEO Sarah Kahn’s executive leadership team and reflect the nonprofit’s strategic focus on enhancing system-wide collaboration, deepening public engagement, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability in its mission to resolve homelessness in Dallas and Collin counties.
John Hill brings over 12 years of experience in political strategy, public affairs, and civic leadership. As Chief External Relations Officer, he will lead Housing Forward’s efforts in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and government affairs. Hill will also oversee the organization’s fundraising strategy, working to expand public and private investment in the All Neighbors Coalitions’ transformative response to homelessness.
A former public school teacher, Hill has advised leaders at every level of government. He held senior leadership roles at Trinity Park Conservancy and in the nonprofit sector and is the creator of the first-of-its-kind CAMP Fellowship political training program in Dallas and Austin. His track record of mobilizing coalitions and shaping public policy will help elevate Housing Forward and the All Neighbors Coalition as leading voices in the movement to end homelessness.
Shante Joseph, a strategic financial executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience, will oversee Housing Forward’s finance and operations as Chief Financial Officer. She will serve as a key advisor to the President & CEO and lead the organization’s financial strategy, budgeting, and compliance functions.
Joseph’s expertise spans capital project management, complex budget oversight exceeding $280 million, and the implementation of financial systems that drive operational efficiency. In her role, she will also play a central part in Housing Forward’s expanding role as a financial intermediary—managing federal and local grants, streamlining financial processes across the All Neighbors Coalition, and supporting backbone infrastructure for the regional homeless response system.
“We are thrilled to welcome John and Shante to our team,” said Kahn. “They are mission-driven, systems-oriented leaders who bring deep experience in building the relationships, strategy, and infrastructure that will carry our work forward. Their leadership comes at a pivotal time as we seek to accelerate progress and continue transforming our region’s strategy to end street homelessness.”
