Remember that 1990 song I’ve Got the Power by Snap? You may not realize it, but much like Snap, you too have got the power, likely much power more than think, to influence the legislative process!
This Monday, July 20, 2020, at 2pm, the Honorable Rick Grady, Plano City Council Member, Place 3, a member of the MDHA CoC Board of Directors and Chair of its Legislative Task Force, will share how you can wield that power to improve the lives of our homeless friends.

We will specifically address:
- How to communicate and build relationships with legislators, at every level of government, and educate them about homelessness
- Understanding the relationship between legislators and their staff and how staff can help you advance legislation
- Advocacy dos and don’ts for non-profits and individuals
- Specific action you can take now to advance the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act, which includes very important provisions re homelessness
Like all of our meetings nowadays, this meeting will be held virtually.
