The 2026 Point-in-Time count
The 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) count is scheduled for the night of January 22,2026. Volunteer opportunities are FULL.

REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER
We need volunteers on the evening of January 22, 2026 to help us take a census of neighbors experiencing homelessness in Dallas and Collin counties. This census helps us understand important trends in our community. Volunteers are truly making a difference by participating in the count and contributing to our efforts to address homelessness in our community. Register today!
Need More Information?
The count will begin with a brief kick-off meeting near your assigned geographical area, around 7:00 pm. The count will start at 8:00 pm and continue until you have finished canvassing your designated area.
We recommend volunteering with a friend or group of friends for the event. If you volunteer individually, we can assign you to a group.
The week of the count, you will receive an email with your kick-off event location, where you will receive your specific geographic assignment. To ensure you feel prepared to participate in the count, Housing Forward will send you a brief training video in January. You will learn what to expect, tips for approaching survey participants, and the steps to follow during the count.

Care Packages
We are in need of gender-neutral care packages for the PIT count. Individuals or organizations are welcome to donate assembled care packages to Housing Forward. We need care packages across Dallas and Collin counties, so you can select a drop-off location that is most convenient for you. All care packages must be dropped off by January 16, 2026.
