We Love it When a Plan Comes Together…

The A Team would usually have one plan come together. In late June, we had two!

1) The MDHA CoC Board unanimously accepted the strategic plan developed by more than 70 leaders from the Dallas community, through a process facilitated by Dr. Iain De Jong, of OrgCode Consulting. We will now set about to attach action items to the plan, and seek out partners, who can help us make the plan a reality, and turn strategy into action.

2) One of the most important constituencies in any community, when it comes to homelessness, is the faith community, and specifically, the clergy. This is why last year MDHA began to explore a closer relationship with Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square (FFD@TGS).

FFD@TGS is a, “broad and diverse coalition of Dallas’ faith leaders, dedicated to service, hope, and a shared vision for our North Texas community,” which, “share[s] in the mission of the Thanks-Giving Foundation to heal divisions and enhance mutual understanding.”

MDHA and FFD@TGS have been working together these past few months on a shared faith community homelessness initiative, within FFD@TGS’s Civic Engagement Committee. At FFD@TGS’s bi-monthly meeting last week, members accepted the recommendation of the committee, and unanimously adopted the homelessness initiative. We encourage you to click through, and read all about it. If you belong to a faith community, encourage yours to join our efforts too!
