January 23, 2020 – Homeless Count 2020 – Once a year, along with communities across the country, we, in Dallas, count our homeless friends. The Count, a requirement under Federal Law, helps communities understand the extent of homelessness, changing trends, and the measure of their success in making homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring. March 19, 2020 – State of Homelessness Address 2020 – The address is delivered by MDHA’s President and CEO, Carl Falconer. It covers the results of January’s annual homeless count, a thorough review of the progress of Dallas’ homeless response system over the preceding year, and the next steps the community must take to make homelessness, in Dallas and Collin Counties, rare, brief and nonrecurring (300-350 attendees). April 2, 2020 – Landlord Appreciation Luncheon 2020 – This event is designed to recognize those on the front lines of providing housing in our homeless response system, landlords and property owners, who are key to the supply side of the housing equation. We are lucky to have sophisticated landlords in our community, who see housing those in need, as not only the right thing to do, but a smart business proposition (110 guests.)
