Hard Conversations: You Can’t Arrest Your Way Out of Homelessness

What and Who: One of the major reforms introduced by Dallas County District Attorney, John Creuzot is to cease prosecuting persons experiencing homelessness and poverty, for “not having a place to go,” or for “non-violent crimes committed out of necessity,” since, “criminalizing poverty is counter-productive for our community’s health and safety.”

In this installment of Hard Conversations, Mr. Creuzot will elaborate on this reform, the data that backs it up, and how it can help our community make homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring.
