Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) is excited to announce a new community-wide learning series, Understanding Homelessness, intended to help the community recognize homelessness in Dallas and Collin counties as a systems issue, understand how the homeless rehousing system is addressing this issue, and identify the community’s role in the collective impact effort to end homelessness.
This series will explore our continuum of care, origins of the modern homelessness crisis, different subpopulations experiencing homelessness, data and system performance, and the systemic racism at the root of homelessness, with subject matter experts leading the conversation.
Understanding Your Continuum of Care
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development mandates each community have a Continuum of Care with a strong backbone organization to drive a collective impact effort to end homelessness.
To kickoff the Learning Series, in the video below, Ashley Brundage, Interim Co-CEO of MDHA and Board Chair of the Homeless Collaborative (CoC) explains the Continuum of Care and the role it plays in ending homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties. After you watch the video, read its accompanying thought piece, Collective Impact – Key to Ending Homelessness.
